The Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Pathophysiology of the Retina, Inserm U592-University Pierre et Marie Curie, based in Paris is looking for a post-doctoral with experience in Molecular and Cellular Biology for a period of 2 years to performed transcriptomic analysis of photoreceptor degeneration in mouse models of the inherited blinding disease, retinitis pigmentosa. The lab has a strong commitment toward therapeutic approaches using gene discovery tools derived from functional genomics. Large scale expression analysis have been used to identify by mean of bioinformatics genes that participate in photoreceptor degeneration and survival meditated by trophic factors. Various molecular methods should now be used to validate the implication of those genes in these processes.
