Dr T. Léveillard is a senior scientist (INSERM) co-directing with Pr. Sahel a research team within the Institut de la Vision (Paris). His interest is in the identification of genes and molecular pathways involved in photoreceptor survival. Dr Léveillard has extensive international collaborations including those with Dr. O. Poch (IGBMC, Strasbourg), Pr. S. Bhattacharya (Institute of Ophtalmology, London), Pr. T. Van Veen (Wallenberg Retina Center, Lund, Sweden) and with many laboratories in many parts of the world. Since 2000, Prof. Sahel is coordinating 2 networks (QLK6-CT-2000-00569; QLK8-CT-2001-00385) thereby demonstrating our ability to organise and manage a network. On another hand, Dr. Olivier Lorentz has just been hired and is in charge of the scientific management.
