Prof. T. van Veen is leading a group of scientists working with hereditary retinal degenerations and neuroprotection at the Wallenberg Retina Center at the Dept. of Ophthalmology at Lund University. The group has collaborations with Drs. Leveillard and Hicks (research team of Prof Sahel in Paris and Strasbourg) and Dr Ueffing at the Institute of Human Genetics in Munich. Several project collaborations outside Europe are ongoing. Prof. van Veen is co-director for the Scandinavian RP Center since 1996 (Financed by the Foundation Fighting Blindness) and participant (contractor) in 3 EU projects, HPRN-CT-2000-00098; QLK6-CT-2000-00569; QLK6-CT-2001-00385.
