DFG-workshops for Early Career Investigators are aimed particularly at preparing young academics throughout Germany early in their career for carrying out their own research projects independently and to encourage them to lead their first projects and attract third-party funding. In the framework of this weeklong workshop, we were able to give 20 carefully selected candidates deepened insight in the field of neurosensory systems and prepared them well-directed for their first DFG application which they can now file. For this purpose, the workshop gave them the possibility for discussions with relevant national and international experts in the field of neurosensory systems and provided them with impulses for their advanced scientific qualification.
