We welcome PhD applications from prospective candidates. PhD students from Fischer Lab are enrolled into the PhD program “Experimental Medicine” of the Medical Faculty of University of Tuebingen and work at the Centre of Ophthalmology, Tuebingen.

The Centre of Ophthalmology, Tuebingen is a Centre of Excellence in Germany, housing multiple scientific teams who work together to analyze genetic variation, relevant pathways and mechanisms of eye diseases. There are >400 employees who recently moved into a new state-of-the-art facility. The Centre of Ophthalmology is embedded in an excellent, internationally competitive research environment and the greater community at University of Tuebingen with its Excellence Cluster in Neuroscience linking up to other top research units (Max Plank Institutes, Hertie Institute of Brain Research etc.), all within walking distance.
