We are pleased and at the same time proud to have received the Transformative Research Award after a very competitive evaluation process. This award was granted by Fighting Blindness Canada (FBC), the largest non-profit funder of vision research in Canada, which aims to give hope to patients by funding the best and most promising research projects that push forward the treatment and cure of eye diseases. This year, the prestigious award went to Prof. Marius Ueffing and his team of the Institute of Ophthalmic Research in Tübingen. With this award, the FBC would like to support a very promising research project aimed at developing a novel neuroprotective drug therapy to slow down vision loss in hereditary retinal diseases. Congratulations to all involved in this project!
