PRO RETINA Patient Symposium on Saturday 28 September, 2024
5 years of gene therapy for retinal diseases. A celebration with PRO RETINA together with the University Eye Hospital Tübingen
Patient Symposium*
*Please note that this event will be held in German
Hereditary retinal diseases pose challenges for medicine, research and those affected. This is because they are rare and very heterogeneous. It is therefore often difficult to diagnose them clearly. A clear diagnosis is extremely important, as it can have far-reaching effects on the life planning of those affected. What's more, the diagnosis makes it possible to understand the causes of incurable retinal diseases and thus paves the way for the development of therapies. For this reason, one contribution by an affected patient at this symposium will shed light on the genetic findings. The experts will also provide an overview of current gene therapies, an insight into the current state of research, an outlook for the future and discussions with those affected.
